    Li Gong was born on 31 December 1965. She has already gained huge popularity among the viewers. She is one of the most talented Chinese actresses. A great man that helped her to make her career is Zhang Yimou, a Chinese director.

    Li Gong from Jinan, capital of Shangong, applied to studies in 1985 at one of the main music schools from China, but she did not pass and denied. In the same year, Li Gong passed the interview, was accepted to the Central Academy of Drama, one of the most prestigious universities from Beijing. During her studies, she was found by Zhang Yimou, choosing her to play the basic role in the Red Sorghum.

    She graduated in 1989 and continued to work further in new roles and projects. As a result, in 1993 she was awarded for one of her best and debut roles in Farewell My Concubine.
