    A British film actor, singer and comedian Peter Sellers was born as Richard Henry Sellers on 8thSeptember 1985, he earned worldwide recognition through his film characterizations most famous among them being the role of inspector Clouseau in the ‘Pink Panther’ series of films. He has featured on BBC radio comedy series titled ‘The goon show’. He has also appeared in many hit comic songs. He was born in Portsmouth and made his first stage performance when he was only 2 weeks old at Kings Theatre South Sea. His talent as a mimicry artist gained him much recognition. He portrayed many parody characters such as military officers and policemen. He is still considered a versatile actor who portrayed a range of characters with the same ease. He won the BAFTA award and golden globe award in the year 1980. He died just after midnight on 24 July 1980; he was just 54 years old.
