    Jose Luis Alcaine – The Spanish Cinematographer of International Repute

    This Spanish born cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine is credited with use of fluorescent tube for the purpose of illumination in film in 1970s and it was for the first time in film history. He was born on December 26, 1938 and worked many a film of international acclaim that brought him awards like five Goyas and European Film Award alongside others.

    We live deeds, not in years which perhaps aptly suits Jose who would always be remembered for his outstanding contributions to the world of cinema in may a film such as Bad Education, Volver and The Skin I Love to name a few. His association with Pedro Almodovar (the most internationally acclaimed Spanish filmmaker who was born in a small town, but rose to the fame without studying the filmmaking in want of money) is well known as he was working in many projects of Pedro. Jose was awarded with the Golden Camera 300 in recognition of his Lifetime Achievement in the year 2013.
