    Julie Andrews Who Was Chosen To Be The Dame By Queen Elizabeth II

    This beautiful English actress of film and stage was born on 1st October 1935 who was known for her melodious voice, theatre direction, dancing and writing. Queen Elizabeth II made Julie Andrews Dame for the services of performing arts in the year 2000 which is a rare honor in Britain. Julie’s filmy career began right from her childhood as a child actress and singer in the movie West End that was way back in 1948.

    She debuted in Broadway through The Boy Friend which was produced in the year 1954 and many more came on her way to take her to the prominence such as Camelot and My Fair Lady. Julie got into feature films in the year 1964 with the movie Mary Poppins and for her role there she won Academy Award for the first time as the Best Actress. Her second Academy Award nomination came in the year 1965 for her all out performances in the movie titled The Sound of Music even though she won a lot more in her life.
