Lauren Bacall is well known for her distinctive husky voice with pleasant beauties and sultry look. She was born on September 16, 1924 in New York. She’s a cousin of Shimon Peres (Israeli President) and came to limelight holding the hands of To Have and Have Not in 1944. This was a Humphrey Bogart film and she was seen in Bogart’s film thereon at regular intervals. She’s credited with many awards and accolades and also performed at Broadway on musicals.

American Film Institute’s list of 100 Stars on its 100th year conferred her ranking of # 20 that was published in 2009. She’s the lady from the Golden Age of motion pictures and was the recipient of Academy Honorary Award that was adjudged by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Her name by birth was Betty Joan Perske which she legally changed to Lauren Barcall later. Interestingly she was very nervous and quivering on the day of her audition for To Have and Have Not.
